Needs to be able to perform the following tasks: 

Know how to use use a Clamp meter, how to change a PCB board and contractor/capacitor and how to charge a split AC system.

Install window and split unit air conditioning systems, connect the wiring and controls and test systems for proper functioning 

A knowledge of air-conditioners and including but not limited to Chillers and Freezers with instrumentation, wiring, panels and connections; qualifications of basic AC course certifications, diplomas will carry aditional weightage. 

The skill set for an AC Tech involves in-yard working as well as visiting sites for installation, maintenance/servicing, trouble-shooting/repairs, calibration, setting and connection for AC, Chillers & Freezers of buildings and but with basic knowledge of mechanical components as well. 

Trouble-shoot window and split unit air conditioner equipment malfunctions and diagnose problems 

Making routine adjustments to maximize operational efficiency. 

Record data when inspecting systems on proper forms 

Change spare parts such as condensers, fans, capacitors 

Conduct daily routine for inspections and check leakage 

Perform regular cleaning of the A/C equipment 

Work with tools that include but not limited to acetylene and brazing torches, pipe cutters, copper tube bender, voltmeters, pressure gauges, wrenches, and hammers. 

Perform related duties as assigned by Maintenance Supervisor.
